| More and more
new cars now have side impact airbags fitted either
standard equipment or as an option.
Seat Cover World have
identified this trend and have undertaken extensive
research and design. This has resulted in the
release of a universal airbag compatible seat
cover* that is suitable for most cars with side
airbags where the airbag deploys through the side seam
of the car seat. These Seat Covers function by have an opening cut into the side of the seat cover where the airbag is able to deploy without obstruction.
This new universal size known as 30/50A
has now been introduced into the Seat Cover World
range and will be available across more models
as new seat cover models and styles are developed.
Look for this size on the product pages of this
web site to find seat covers that can be used
with side impact airbags that deploy from the
side seam of the side of the car seat.
It is important when purchasing seat covers for
fitment onto seats with side impact airbags that
the advice and cautions on the packaging
are read, understood and adhered to. Incorrect
or unsuitable fitment may cause the airbag not
to deploy in the case of an accident.

**IMPORTANT UPDATE**
New S.A.T (Side Airbag Technology) System
Seat Cover World are in the process of introducing a new Side Airbag system into their seat covers known as “S.A.T – Side Airbag Technology”.
No longer is a large hole cut into the side of the seat cover, but in its place a specially sewn break away seam that is designed to split upon deployment of the side airbag. The S.A.T seam is positioned at the junction of the front and side panels of the seat cover and will be sewn into both sides of the seat cover, ensuring customers can safely fit the seat cover to either driver or passenger seat.
Currently, all “30/50” and “30/50A” SHEEPSKIN products being dispatched from Seat Cover World already feature this SAT stitching (rather than an open hole as an airbag allowance), and will also feature the SAT sticker (see image below) on the packaging.
The SAT stitching has not yet been introduced to the fabric seat cover range but will be introduced in the very near future.
